Research for the Future

Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS, Division Engineering of Adaptive Systems

The EAS Division is part of the Erlangen-based Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS. In Dresden, the capital of the Free State of Saxony, roughly 90 employees are occupied with the question of how to improve the efficiency of designing increasingly complex electronic and mechatronic systems. This makes IIS/EAS one of the largest research institutions in the field of design automation in Europe.

Business Areas

Fraunhofer IIS/EAS develops customer-oriented solutions and advises customers in the following business areas:

  • Design methodology
  • Efficient electronics
  • Algorithms and data processing

The scientists at the division have many years of experience in these fields, enabling them to offer customers comprehensive assistance especially in the application areas mobility and industrial automation. This assistance ranges from issue analysis and consulting to the design of system concepts and the development of complete system solutions. Our customers profit from our outstanding know-how in the design of complex electronic and mechatronic systems.

By applying knowledge and innovative solutions for our customers, we aim at achieving a faster, more efficient and last but not least a more cost saving design of products.
